A Professional Assessment, Not a Sales Visit
A Roof York roof survey is a professional inspection of your roof, undertaken before we prepare a detailed quotation for the work required.
Where a site survey is required, we charge £100 + VAT. This covers our time attending your property, inspecting the relevant roof areas, discussing our findings with you and preparing a written, itemised quotation.
Charging for this time allows us to give each property the attention it requires and provide considered recommendations based on what we find on site.
There is no obligation to instruct Roof York to undertake the subsequent roofing work.

We allow appropriate time to attend your property, inspect the relevant roof areas and understand the problem before recommending work.
Professional Roof Assessment
We assess relevant roof coverings, junctions, drainage, penetrations, flashings and interfaces to identify visible defects and determine an appropriate repair or replacement approach.
Detailed Quotation
Following the roof survey, we prepare a written, itemised quotation setting out the recommended roofing works, relevant options and proposed next steps.
What Your £100 + VAT Includes
Your survey fee covers the time and resources required to properly assess the roofing work before we prepare our quotation.
- Site attendance at your property
- Roof inspection of the relevant and reasonably accessible areas
- Discussion of visible defects, likely causes and appropriate options
- Written, itemised quotation for the recommended roofing works
There is no obligation to proceed with the proposed works. The £100 + VAT fee covers the inspection and quotation process.
This service is provided to assess proposed roofing works and prepare a quotation. It is not a structural survey, building survey or expert witness report.
Cancellation & Appointments
We understand that plans can change. If you need to cancel or rearrange your roof survey, please contact us as early as possible.
- Cancel at least 3 working days before your appointment and, subject to any applicable statutory cancellation rights, we will issue a full refund of the survey fee.
- If we attend the agreed appointment but cannot obtain the agreed access to undertake the survey, the survey fee will normally be non-refundable because the appointment and attendance have taken place.
If you need to change your appointment, contact us as early as possible and we will do our best to arrange an alternative date.
